Gynecor Announces Appointment of New Associate Medical Director

Gynecor announces the appointment of Dr. Peter Schlosshauer, M.D., as Associate Medical Director of Gynecor. Dr. Schlosshauer will be based out of Gynecor’s Uniondale, New York laboratory. His appointment strengthens Gynecor’s commitment to providing optimal patient care with its veteran team of specialty-specific pathologists.

Prior to joining Gynecor, Dr. Schlosshauer served as Assistant Professor at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Attending Pathologist in the Division of Gynecologic Pathology at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY, where he worked for over ten years with Dr. Liane Deligdisch, an internationally recognized expert in GYN pathology.

Dr. Schlosshauer is board certified in Anatomic Pathology. He received his M.D. from the Medical School of the University of Heidelberg, Germany and served as a practicing OB/GYN for a number of years before completing his Residency in Anatomic Pathology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York, NY. While at Columbia, Dr. Schlosshauer studied with Dr. Ralph Richart and Dr. Tom Wright, experts on cervical HPV-associated lesions. He completed his Fellowship in Gynecologic Pathology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York, NY, where he studied with Dr. Lora Hedrick Ellenson, an internationally renowned expert on the pathogenesis of endometrial carcinoma.
