BD Affirm

Gynecor utilizes the FDA approved BD Affirm for detecting three infectious agents that are responsible for up to 95% of infectious vaginitis cases:

  • Gardnerella Vaginalis
  • Candida Species
  • Trichomonas Vaginalis

The BD Affirm test uses DNA probe technology to accurately and quickly identify these pathogens from a single sample. Since up to 25% of vaginal infections are mixed infections, results can help physicians provide appropriate drug therapy for their patients and thereby reduce patient visits.
